Our family of 4 will be going to WDW for the first time in November. We are staying at the fort wilderness lodge is there a better room or location to request for?

    Hi Angela,

Thanks for your question!  Based on your inquiry, I'm not sure if you will be staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground so I will offer you areas to request for both.

At Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I suggest you ask for a room at the end of one of the Lodge's two long hallways.  These rooms are quite a long walk from the main lobby and bus transportation, but the views of Bay Lake and Fire Rock Geyser are well worth the extra steps.  These rooms are also very close to the boat dock where you can catch a lovely relaxing ride to the Magic Kingdom.  If, on the other hand, you are more concerned about conserving steps while you are staying at the lodge, ask for a room right in the main lobby area of the resort.  If you stay in these rooms, you'll have an amazing view of the inspiring seven-story lobby and be just a few steps away from complimentary Disney bus transportation.

If you are staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, I suggest you request a location as near as possible to Pioneer Hall.  This puts you near the resort's restaurants, stables, boat transportation, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, arcade, and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.  Another great location to request would be near the Meadow Trading Post.  This spot would put you close to an adorable pool, the Bike Barn, and Chip & Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long.  Either of these regions of the resort would be a great place to stay.

Wishing you a magical first trip to Walt Disney World!
