My family and I are going to WDW for the first time in May! My dad bought the tickets, but I would like to link the My Disney Experience app with those tickets so I can see the plans and my ticket for the trip on my phone as well. Is this possible?

    Hey there, Matt!

It's great to see you here at planDisney, and thanks for your question! I'm excited for you and your family that you're all getting ready for your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

It's cool that you're wanting to make great use of the My Disney Experience mobile app. I think you'll find that the app is a convenient tool for managing your day-to-day plans during your Walt Disney World Resort stay. I find the app is packed with features like interactive maps with directions, mobile food ordering, virtual queues, attraction wait times, and more.

One of the features I most appreciate in the My Disney Experience mobile app is the ability to view, share, and manage plans using the Family & Friends features. Your dad will want to sign in to his My Disney Experience account and make sure that you and he are connected on the Family & Friends List. If he is using the My Disney Experience mobile app, he can go to the My Profile area and tap the tab for Family & Friends List. He'll see an Add a Guest button. It could be that your name will automatically display as a Guest to select depending on how he added and linked the theme park tickets he purchased. If your name doesn't automatically display,  your dad can enter your information, choose that he wants to share plans, and enter your email address. After you receive and accept the email invitation to connect, you and your dad will be connected through Family & Friends. The Walt Disney World Internet Help Desk can provide you with support if you need help with My Disney Experience, and their phone number is (407) 939-4357.

Matt, one of the planning steps you'll want to be sure your family completes is making your theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass system. The My Disney Experience mobile app home screen has a button for booking theme park reservations that will take you to the Disney Park Pass system online. I always recommend that Guests take a look at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see that the theme parks they want to visit have reservations available for when they want to visit.

Matt, if you have more questions as you and your family make your plans for your first visit, just ask us here at planDisney! You might also want to follow planDisney on social media for tips, ideas, and answers to popular questions.

Here's wishing you and your family an awesome and amazing stay at Walt Disney World Resort!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
