My family is going to WDW for the first time Jan 2-8th. I have heard around New Years it gets crazy packed, wall to wall people. I have some anxiety issues and flat out will not be able to deal with seas of people. Will it be this busy on the 2-8th ?

    H there, Paul!

While peak holiday week is most definitely Christmas through New Years, you will likely find crowds to be considerably less the next week.

While they are in no way reduced to the levels of, say, late January or early February, many of the holiday Guests do leave shortly after New Year's Eve.

Marathon Weekend begins on January 10, 2013, so you might see a slight uptick in Guests toward the very end of your visit, but again, nowhere near holiday crowd levels.

You might want to consider checking out a site like TouringPlans.com. This third party site uses historical data to predict attendance on any give day. Its statistics are compiled over time and population, so its reliability is reasonably high. A program like this might help you develop a strategic itinerary that maximizes those Parks with lowest attendance on each day of your visit.

    Have a wonderful time!

    See you later, celebrator,
