My family and I are going to WDW for the first time Aug 23-28. that gives us 4 full days to plan. I am wondering what the best way to spend our time will be. I have a 9 and 4 yr old, both boys. There is so much to do and 4 days clearly isnt enough time!

Hakuna matata, Jolene! No matter how many times you visit Walt Disney World, there will always be new things for you to explore. It is practically impossible to 'do it all’ even if you were staying longer. It is best to look into all there is to do and jot down some of your favorites. Everyone in my family has their own Walt Disney World wish lists. During each trip we visit our favorites and also make it a point to experience something new. With four days and two boys I would spend one and a half days at Magic Kingdom Park, half a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, one day at Epcot, and one day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I would probably visit Magic Kingdom Park on the first and last days.

I have two boys, also. They are currently 7-years and 10-years old. I have put together a list of their favorite attractions and shows for you. Of course, I still make them visit at least one princess each time. It is my vacation, too!

I am not sure how tall your little one is, but some of my boys’ favorite rides are Splash Mountain, Toy Story Midway Mania!, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet®, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. You can check the height requirements and other information online for these and other rides.

Their favorite shows are all at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Don’t miss Muppet*Vision 3D, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, and Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular!

There are no wrong choices, as I am sure your boys will have an absolute wonderful vacation just spending time playing as a family. Joleen, please come by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you need any help deciding. We would love to help, and we don't want you to worry!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
