My family will be going to WDW in December. My dad is retired from the military, but military discounts are only good through 9/30/12. If WDW decides to extend the military discount, can we call back and have that applied to our reservations?

Hi Melissa!

This is a great question.

If any kind of discount comes out, you can always call Disney and ask that it be applied to your reservation. Just keep in mind that not all discounts apply and if you make a change within the penalty period, you might have to pay a fee.

Also keep in mind that Disney will not automatically apply any discounts; you really have to keep your eyes and ears open for discounts and then contact Disney. Finally, remember that you can only have one discount at any time so you can't stack up discounts.

By the way, a good site to help you keep on the lookout for discounts is the independent website MouseSavers.com. That site has a lot of information on saving money on a Disney vacation. I am a huge fan of Mouse Savers and it has helped me save a lot of money over the years. Definitely check it out!
