hello moms, my family is going to wdw in august and have never done the dining plan before but are considering it this time. I was wondering if we do get the dining plan can we pay cash for something extra on the same check if we want an app.

Hi Christopher! I love the dining plan! Not only is it flexible with the order you use the credits, it just makes my vacation planning and budgeting so much simpler. You may absolutely order other items not included on the dining plan and pay separately. You can do this at either counter service or table service locations. For example if you order a specialty drink that is not part of your dining plan while at a table service restaurant your server will simply add it to your bill and you can pay separately or charge it to your room with your Magic Band. The same holds true at counter service locations. For example if you go to a counter service location for a turkey leg and a fountain drink you can pay with your snack credit for the drink and pay cash (or Magic Band again!) for the turkey leg. I'll admit to you that I have a turkey leg budget whenever my family vacations in Walt Disney World. All four of my kids and my hubby LOVE them. Take a look at the different Disney Dining Plans to see which one fits your style. For most of my family's vacations we prefer the regular Disney Dining Plan over the Deluxe and simply bring a little extra cash for our turkey legs and appetizers.
