Hi Clarita!
Welcome to planDisney! We are here to provide lots of advice!
First things first, if you need someone to make reservations and other plans for you, you might want to consider speaking with a travel agent. Although I used a travel agency when I first started planning, I learned how to use the digital tools available on the website and in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and felt much better making my own plans after our first trip with our girls.
On the Walt Disney World website, I would encourage you to review the links at the bottom of the screen. You should see links for
park tickets and
vacation packages. I suggest that you consider purchasing a vacation package which would include a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets.
When reviewing the resort hotel options, consider what you would prefer in a resort hotel. My family prefers resort hotels with multiple
transportation and
dining options. Our favorite resort hotels are within walking distance to one or more theme parks. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort are both within walking distance to Magic Kingdom. We also love Disney's BoardWalk Inn because it is within walking distance to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Once you decide on a few options for resort hotel, search vacation package pricing and decide the type and number of days of theme park tickets. Tickets with the
Park Hopper® Option will allow you to visit more than one park per day as long as park capacity allows. While we love visiting more than one park per day, realistically, we typically only visit one park per day so Standard Theme Park Tickets have worked just fine for us in the past.
Now, let's talk about visiting at New Year's Eve. This is typically a busy time of year! Each guest needs a
Disney Park Pass system reservation for each day you plan to enter a theme park. Be sure to keep an eye on the
theme park reservation availability calendar because park pass availability could change at any moment. My suggestion would be to make your vacation package reservation as soon as possible and then link that reservation in
My Disney Experience. Once your vacation package is linked, you should be able to make park pass reservations.
Clarita, keep an eye on the weather. When I last visited in early January, it was freezing. We literally had on coats and hats. We had a great time, but plan accordingly!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
