My family wants to buy an annual pass for our next trip in April. 1st time pass holders! Do we purchase online or in a disney store? Does it start the day of purchase? How do we make fast pass selections, once avail again, if we don’t have an active pass?

    Hi Christina,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited to hear that you plan to join the Walt Disney World passholder family. I've been a passholder for more than 20 years and love the convenience, the flexibility and the discounts that an annual pass affords our family.

You can purchase annual passes at the Disney Store and other locations, such as AAA. But I think the easiest way is to get the passes online through the Walt Disney World website. You will link the passes to your My Disney Experience account and begin your planning right away.

Annual passes are valid for one year from the date of first use at the theme parks. So your passes would run from April 2021 to April 2022. But as soon as they are linked to your My Disney Experience account, you can start taking advantage of your passholder benefits, such as discount offers at the resorts.

Currently, as part of enhanced health and safety measures, FastPass+ is on hiatus. But previously, you would have been able to make your FastPass+ reservations using My Disney Experience before activating your annual passes. For now, admission to the parks is by the Disney Parks Pass reservation system, which you also will have access to through My Disney Experience once your passes are linked.

Thanks so much for your question, Christina. I hope that's clear for you. Please let us know if we can help in any other way as you begin to explore the benefits of being a Walt Disney World passholder and as you plan your April visit.
