    My family wants to book a trip to Disney around Christmas (Dec. 2011). We are 3 adult couples. I would like to know if the extra money ($3000 more/couple) for a deluxe resort is worth it. We are considering Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and Port Orleans

    Hello there Kristin!

    I understand your concern over the cost of the resorts. It's simply a matter of your willingness to pay that much more for basically a little better theme and proximity to Magic Kingdom. I'm assuming that you are trying to decide between Port Orleans and the other two Deluxe resorts? I have heard many great things about Port Orleans and I know that their rooms were just recently refurbished so if it's a $3000 difference I myself would stay at the lower priced resort. I say this because, there are so many wonderful restaurants at Walt Disney World that you could partially spend what you save on the resort in dinning out at some magnificent places. May I suggest one dinner at Victoria and Alberts? The cost of the meal is on the high side but, for what you get and the experience, it's very worth it and think of all the money you saved!
