    Our family of 5 will be visitng WDW on July 21-July 28. I have three boys ages 14,11,7. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We are on a tight budget and have purchased a dining plan with 2 meals. I want to bring breakfast items. Any suggestions?

    Hi, Cheryl!   One nice part about staying at a Moderate Resort is you will have a refrigerator in your room so it will be easy to keep snacks for your family.

    For breakfast items, you might want to have granola bars, muffins, or pastry snacks.   You can even have a loaf of bread and go use the toaster in the food court area if you want to make toast in the morning.   You can pick-up milk and juice and have it in your frig without having to buy individual milk bottles every morning.  

    Since you are on a tight budget, make sure to pack a few things from home that will save a few dollars:  refillable water bottles (fill your bottles with ice before leaving for the parks in the morning and ask for ice water at counter service locations,) rain ponchos, autograph books, pens, a spray/mist fan, and an umbrella.   These are all inexpensive items that you have around your house, but if you have to buy them in the parks, it can add up!

    Plan to bring a backpack or tote bag into the parks where you can keep crackers or snacks.   Whenever one of your guys needs a snack, you can just grab one out of your bag.  (But don't forget to use your snack credits!)   

    Souvenirs can add up during the week.   Give your boys a budget, and let them know that toward the end of the week they can use that money to purchase a souvenir.   By waiting, they have something to look forward to and they take their time deciding.
