Hiya Heather - welcome back to
planDisney, it's been a while!
I'm so glad you stopped by to ask about mobile payment options at
Walt Disney World Resort. This is an area where Disney is constantly innovating and I've seen additional progress every time I visit!
During my visit a couple of weeks ago, I was able to use Apple Pay at nearly any location that accepts contactless credit card payments. While there is not a formal list of locations that do
not accept it, I personally didn't come across anywhere that didn't have that functionality!
It was a bit hit or miss with Table Service restaurants, but Cast Members were always willing to help us out and find a solution - sometimes it just required a device to be brought to our table or for us to walk up to a payment computer with our server. I do also know that there are sometimes temporary refreshment stands located within some longer attraction queues, and at times, they may have more limited payment options. The moral of the story is that while you'll probably be fine relying on Apple Pay for most purchases, I still like to bring at least one physical credit card or a small amount of cash with me into the Theme Parks just in case.
If you're interested, you can also try
Merchandise Mobile Checkout at select merchandise locations like
the World of Disney store located at Disney Springs, and when you're hungry for a bite, you can use Apply Pay through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App with the magically convenient
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering!
I hope you're ready for a magical trip! You'll be experiencing all the magic of the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration including brand-new attractions, experiences, treats, and so much more.
Please let me know if any other questions pop up as you continue your planning!
