Hi! Our family of 5 is visiting WDW this November. This will be our first trip without using a stroller as our youngest is now 7. Could you give me tips/advice on what is essential to carry in a backpack. Trying to keep it light. Thank you!

    Hi Stacey,

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel. Good to know that you are going to WDW again. Actually, this past May, I was at WDW with my daughter that now is seven too and it was her first time without a stroller too. She was able to walk all day and without complaining. Use your MagicBand to pay for things is better, even though you better take with you a few bucks and a credit card, in case your MagicBand won’t work or until you use it for the first time to verify that your MagicBand is actually working. On my backpack, I put a pain killer pill, a fever medicine for the little one, a lipstick, a hair brush, moisture wipes, hand sanitizer, sun screen and a charger for the phones with cable. Sometimes I carry the rain coats too. I make everybody on my family use their coats around their waist. If my husband or son wants, they can carry their own backpack like the ones that I call “string ones” with another items. Husband always carry a video camera in a case too. Water, I am always buying, all day. We don’t like to carry bottles of water. Is pretty much this. And it was so easy to walk without having to park the stroller all the time. You are going to love this freedom again.

    Have fun at WDW!
