My family and I are visiting WDW in March. I came as a child in the 80's but my wife has never been. My question is are any of the attractions or rides the same as when the park first opened?

    Hi Brooke!

As a fellow child of the 80s, I am pleased to tell you that most of the rides are the same.  They all go under refurbishment once in awhile to refresh paint, broken pieces or just get a little spruced up.  Some attractions have been replaced with new, updated ones, but the classics are still there.  The Haunted Mansion remains my favorite ride.  It has been enhanced since we were kids, but it remains true to the original ride.  Pirates of the Caribbean has added a few characters from the movies.  My parent's favorite attraction is the People Mover, which is still  the same.  It did undergo a name change to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, but recently was changed back to the People Mover.  Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain are still as thrilling as ever!

I hope you enjoy your revisit to Disney World and your wife has a magical first time!  Be sure to pick her up a "1st Visit" button at any Guest Services.
