Welcome to planDisney, Simone! Thanks for sharing your question with us!
That’s so exciting that you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World for the first time later this year. My first visit was when I was less than one year old, so I can’t claim to remember it, but my parents claim I had a good time.
As I’m sure you’ve seen already, the Walt Disney World website indicates that
Der Teddybar at EPCOT is temporarily unavailable. There haven’t been any shared plans or public announcements regarding its reopening, and it appears it hasn’t fully reopened since 2020. It appears that the space was used for a special Annual Passholder character meet and greet last year before closing again, so my guess is that it’s unlikely to reopen as a retail space again in the near future. But you never know! You can keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements as your trip draws closer.
If you’re specifically looking for German items, I’d just suggest checking out
Volkskunst, which is also in the Germany Pavilion. It lists toys, as well as cuckoo clocks and German candies, amongst its offerings. If you’re interested in toys from other corners of the globe, then you’ll definitely want to spend some time at
Misukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion and browse the stands inside the Mexico Pavilion.
You’ve picked a great time to visit Walt Disney World, Simone. The spooky season celebrations will be in full swing, and the Disney Parks Blog has just shared multiple previews of what to expect later this year. You can find details about happenings around the entire resort
here, or Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party info
here.
I hope this information helps with your holiday planning. Pop right back to planDisney if you have any more questions. We’re always happy to help!
Magical travels!
