My family will be visiting WDW the first part of July. Our military pass may not be used on the 4th of July holiday. Where is the best place to view fireworks from outside one of the parks?

Two places come to mind to watch the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom on the 4th of July.  If you'd like to splurge, you might consider dining at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort.  Even if you have dinner early, you can return to the restaurant for the fireworks from the balconies.  The views from the top of the resort are truly beautiful.  Similarly, fireworks can be seen from Narcoossees at the Grand Floridian and parts of 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort.

Another similar splurge could be booking a speciality fireworks cruise where you can watch the fireworks from a private boat; there are ones offered for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.  Click here to learn more about the cruises.

If you'd like a less-expensive, no reservations way of watching the fireworks, the beach at the Polynesian has some equally spectacular views.  My kids have always liked being able to play on the beach beforehand then we find a good spot and enjoy the show.  You can also stop at the Captain Cook's counter service restaurant to grab something to eat with you: a picnic on the beach!
