My family will be visiting WDW in December, what holiday events or sights are there to see at Downtown Disney. We have purchased tickets to MVMCP, Epcot Candlelight, and are planning to visit HS lights, but haven't seen anything for Downtown Disney.

    Hi Beth,

Downtown Disney has the "Festival of the Seasons". Like the rest of Disney World, it is beautifully decorated for the season and is a great place to get some Christmas gifts. Window shopping takes on a whole new meaning as you enjoy the wonderful holiday displays celebrating traditions from different cultures. I love strolling around there and looking at all the decorations. At the Marketplace, you'll find Santa Claus waiting to greet you at his chalet in front of the World of Disney store. You can take your own pictures or use PhotoPass. Throughout the Holiday season, you'll find school choirs performing at the Dock Stage as well as DJ Dance Parties. Be sure to stop by the "Days of Christmas Store" to pick out the perfect ornament to commemorate your trip. They will add names, the year or anything else you'd like to customize it perfectly. I could spend hours browsing in this store.

At Downtown Disney's West Side strolling musicians and Toy Soldier stilt walkers add to the holiday festivities.

While at Disney World, be sure to schedule some time to "Resort Hop". The Grand Floridian has a breathtaking, no-to-be-missed giant gingerbread house, the Contemporary has a cool, tall gingerbread tree and the Beach Club has a gingerbread and chocolate carousel that is incredible. While at the Beach Club, be sure to walk next door to the Yacht Club to check out their beautiful tree. I especially like the tree in the Wilderness Lodge, it is so stunning.

    Wishing you a wonderful vacation,

    Kaylene
