Hello, Me and my Family are visiting WDW from Canada during July fourth celebrations. I am just wondering if there is any extra events happening during the Holiday weekend, and how I can find out show times? Are Crowds Heavy during this Time?? Thank You!!

    Hi Wendy!

The July 4th weekend is a very crowded time to be at Walt Disney World.  However, the July 4th fireworks at the Magic Kingdom are spectacular.  Historically speaking, there's a good chance the Magic Kingdom, and other parks, will close "due to capacity" meaning that there are so many guests in the park that Disney won't let any more in.  This happened to my family two years ago for the 4th of July so we watched the 4th of July fireworks from the Polynesian Resort instead.

By the way, Disney usually "rehearses"  the July 4th Magic Kingdom fireworks on July 3rd, so that's a great way to see them with a little less of a crowd.  Also, on July 4th Epcot usually has an extra "holiday tag" at the end of Illuminations.  Hollywood Studios also usually has 4th of July fireworks and sometimes even Downtown Disney does.

Finally, if you want to miss the crowds on the 4th of July, you should consider going to Disney's Animal Kingdom.  My family has done that and we've found Animal Kingdom to be almost empty on the 4th, because most guests are at the other parks since there are no fireworks at the Animal Kingdom.
