Hi, my family are visiting WDW in August and would love to do the horseback trail rides at Fort Wilderness. Do we have to book this by telephone and how many days in advance are we able to book it? Many thanks

Hi, Denise! So happy to have you back!

Yee-haw, you're in for a rootin'-tootin' time taking to the trails of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground as part of the horseback riding experiences available at Tri-Circle-D Ranch. My family and I have enjoyed this "Enchanted Extra" and we had a blast. My favorite part was when our guides would tell stories about the horses and their journey to becoming a Disney Horse.

Advanced reservations are recommended due to the limited number of spots available during each tour. You can book your experience by calling (407) WDW-PLAY up to 180 days in advance of your desired ride date. A few other tips I have included wearing closed toed shoes, jeans, and arriving early to complete the waiver forms for each member of your party.

I also suggest making a day of it by exploring the ranch and having a meal at Trail's End Restaurant - the only place in Walt Disney World® Resort you can get authentic southern-style sweet tea. If you have any little cowboys or cowgirls in your family, pony rides are available too!

I hope this helps in planning a fun day as you mosey on over to "the Ranch." Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions. I've also included some additional information, just select the highlighted links to check it out.

    Happy Trails!
