My family and I will be visiting Walt Disney World during Presidents week of 2011. We will be traveling with a 2 yr old and 5 yr old. I am concerned about the crowds with an active two year old. What time of day would be best to visit the park.

    Hi Johanna,

While crowds are likely to be higher than average during the weekend preceding Presidents' Day, that doesn't mean you can't still have a blast.  The best strategy for avoiding the crowds on busy days is to arrive at your theme park of choice at opening time.  Families can accomplish quite a bit early in the day.  One morning my family covered all of our favorite rides in Fantasyland of the Magic Kingdom in under an hour because crowds hadn't yet had the time to fill the park.

If you are staying at one of Disney's resorts, definitely take advantage of Extra Magic Hours.  These are times, either before a theme park's regular opening or after its normal closing time, which have been reserved solely for Disney resort guests.  This is another great time to enjoy all that the theme parks have to offer with less crowds.

Enjoy your February trip!  Your kids are at a fabulous age to experience the magic of Walt Disney World.
