My family and I are visiting in October and I would like to know if I have to purchase a special ticket to experience the park at night? I know that the Oogie Boogie bash is a ticketed event, but do I have to have a special ticket to see any parades?

Welcome, Leslie! We're so glad to have you here at planDisney, and thank you so much for trusting your question to us!

I think you are going to have a grim, grinning, good time visiting Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time! There are so many fun and delightful offerings throughout the season. Plus, I'm happy to share that because Disneyland Resort has two incredible theme parks, you can still enjoy Disneyland Park even on those select nights when Disney California Adventure Park closes for Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party. For this reason, I would suggest checking the party dates and ensuring that you make your theme park reservations accordingly. Or, if you happen to have a Park Hopper ticket, you'll have no problem enjoying Disney California Adventure Park throughout the day and then switching over to Disneyland Park for the hours after Disney California Adventure Park is restricted to Oogie Boogie Bash ticket holders only. All this to say, YES! With the right plans in place, you absolutely can enjoy Disneyland Resort at night!

Now, Leslie, I'm so glad you asked about parades because I think a proper visit to Disneyland Resort simply can't be considered complete without seeing one. The "Magic Happens" parade is one of my absolute favorites and while we can't necessarily see the entertainment schedule into October just yet, the patterns for September make me hopeful that there will continue to be showtimes during your visit. I suggest checking back in a couple of weeks when more information on the entertainment calendar becomes available. The "Magic Happens" parade takes place down Main Street, U.S.A., and throughout Fantasyland so there really is no bad viewing area as long as you are along the parade route! Of course, as is true with all entertainment offerings, showtimes are always subject to change or cancellation.

Leslie, I hope I've helped resolve any concerns, and please don't hesitate to come back to planDisney if we can help with anything else. In the meanwhile, keep your eye on that entertainment schedule as your visit approaches to see all the details on live entertainment, parades, and nighttime spectaculars! I really hope you make wonderful, magical, unforgettable memories with your loved ones at 'The Happiest Place on Earth!'

    Wishing you magic, always!
