    Hi! My family will be visiting next April and staying at POR. Are the parks accessible by boat from the resort we're staying at?

    Hi Matthew! The Port Orleans Riverside Resort is one of my favorite moderate resorts at Walt Disney World. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the rustic environment. I find this a very relaxing and easy to get around resort.

    This resort does indeed have some Water transportation. However, it does not take you to any of the four theme parks. The water taxi boats will go between Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter and then on to Disney Springs. To reach the theme parks you will need to take the complimentary bus transportation from the resort.

    Definitely make time to hop on the boat for an afternoon or evening and head to Disney Springs. Disney has changed so much of the area and it is simply amazing. Try one of the new restaurants or browse through the great new shops. You can also check out the movie schedule at the AMC theater or bowl a few games at Splitsville. What used to be a side trip if you had some extra time is now a planned day for many families. A fun boat ride there and back is a great plan for all guests who are staying at Port Orleans Riverside.
