My family and I are visiting magic kingdom for the first time in June. What can we expect as far as weather and crowds? Any suggestions for first timers with 8 year old son? I hear there is a really good french fry place where is that?

Hi Jennifer! I know you and your family are so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. You will be amazed at all the things you can see and do in the wonderful Magic Kingdom Theme Park.

June is the beginning of Disney's summer season and that means lots of families coming to visit. But it also means lots of new and fun things are happening on property. You might want to consider spending a day or two in all of the other three parks during your vacation. The Nighttime Fun in the Animal Kingdom Park is just beginning and you can enjoy the new Soarin attraction that has been closed for the last 6 months in Epcot. We are also still waiting to hear when the new Frozen attraction will open. Hollywood Studios is hopping with Star Wars characters and meet and greets as Disney begins the anticipated Star Wars Land and other surprises.

Crowds in the parks will start to be high so be prepared for long lines. Make sure you reserve your FastPasses for the Magic Kingdom 60 days in advance if you are a resort guest. Pack light clothes as the weather of summer will have hit the central Florida area. The temps and humidity will be high. The normal afternoon thunderstorms will be starting their daily appearance but just be prepared with rain gear.

I also encourage you to get advanced dining reservations at many of the great Disney restaurants. When I want some great French fries in the Magic Kingdom park I head to Casey's Corner on Main Street.
