    My family is visiting Disneyworld in June, 2011 at Port Orleans, Riverside. When we booked in October there were no more preferred rooms. I have some problems walking long distances and was hoping to be nearer to the buses. Any suggestions?

    Good news!

    There are multiple bus stops at Port Orleans, one near the preferred rooms that sit closest to the Main Building and pool, but also around the perimeter of the resort and just as close to the buildings that house standard rooms.

    My recommendation is that you call Disney and let them know your mobility issues and that you need a room close to a bus stop not to mention one on the first floor, as there are no elevators. A week before you leave for your vacation, call to confirm that your request is still on your reservation. Then, upon check-in, confirm that your room is near a bus stop. I have found that Disney tries to accommodate requests but they can't guarantee them. This will go a long way to getting you way you need.
