We are a family of 5 visiting Disneyworld for the first time in Sept/Oct this year. we are wanting to stay at Port New Orleans riverside from 27/09 - 6/10. would we be eligible for the free dining upgrade or do we have to book from the 30th?

The free dining promotion currently offered is for guests who arrive on select dates, Suzie.  In order to take advantage of the offer, you would need to change your arrival date.  You have a few options.  The first is to arrive three days later, on September 30th.  Doing so would allow you to enjoy the free dining for your entire length of stay.  Alternately, you could still arrive on the 27th and check in without the free dining.  You could then have a second reservation that begins on September 30th.  You would then enjoy free dining for the duration of that second stay.  One thing to keep in mind is that if you do it that way, you would not have access to your park tickets for the vacation package until the 30th and you may be required to change rooms during the trip.

I hope you are able to work something out and take advantage of that special offer, Suzie.  Good luck!
