My family is visiting Disney World for the week of Thanksgiving. I've heard that it is crazy busy during that time of year. Should we reschedule for another time or are there some tips we could use instead??

    Hi Lauren,

You are correct, Thanksgiving is a popular time of year to visit Walt Disney World. Many people have extended time off from work, and children have longer breaks from school, so many guests find it a good time of year to travel. Even given this, I do not recommend that you reschedule your trip. I assume that you booked at Thanksgiving because this is when you are able to travel! If there is another time of year that works well for you, you could reschedule; however, do know that times when many of us have time off from work - near Christmas, Spring Break, and so on - tend to be the busier times of year as well. Let me offer you some tips for your Walt Disney World vacation at a busier time of year.

First, I always recommend that guests arrive as early as they can to theme parks. Even arriving about 30 minutes before opening time is a good idea! You will be amazed at how much you can get done in the early hours. Many guests like to sleep in, and this time of day tends to be the least crowded at the theme park so that you can experience many attractions in a shorter time.

Next, definitely take advantage of the Disney FastPass+ system. Using this system, you will be able to experience some attractions skipping the standby line. This will save you time. Before you head to Walt Disney World, be sure to link your theme park admission to your My Disney Experience account. This will allow you to make up to three Disney FastPass+ selections per day. Once you are in the theme park and have used all three selections, you can make another and another, pending availability, for the rest of the day.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful with your decision making, Lauren! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
