My family and I are visiting Disney World in Florida. I was wondering if characters are still not allowed to sign autographs? We are completely vaccinated as well. If autographs are allowed can I ask non-characters like waiters for autographs as well?

Hi, Emily! Welcome to planDisney! Seeing some of our favorite Disney pals is one of the best reasons to plan a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. And I just know our friends look forward to seeing us Guests, too!

Right now, character experiences at Walt Disney World are still taking place with physical distancing in mind, so they're not able to sign our autograph books just yet. However, my family just got home today from a weekend visit to Walt Disney World, and I can tell you that you'll still see lots of characters in the parks! There are Character Cavalcades throughout the day featuring a float or two carrying some familiar Disney faces. In fact, we saw two of them go by while we were waiting for our dining reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern. But my favorite character sighting of the weekend was spotting Winnie the Pooh chasing butterflies at EPCOT near The Goodness Garden Butterfly House. He waved and blew me a kiss, and I just loved it!

One way you can get autographs is to book a character dining meal. While the characters do remain distanced, they still visit each table for a wave and a bit of interaction. Later, your server may bring you a card with the characters' pre-printed autographs. We got an autograph card when we had lunch at Hollywood & Vine a couple of months ago, and it certainly makes for a nice memento of your vacation.

I hope this helps you plan a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, Emily. Have fun, and wave hello to Mickey for me!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
