Kaitlin! From one Washingtonian to another - welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to chat about your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Thank you for asking this thoughtful question about the
Disability Access Service (DAS) and the possibility of using it with
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. I can understand your desire to limit the amount of time standing for your child, and DAS will help make your visit so much more enjoyable. Well done. However, because the maximum party size to redeem a DAS return time is four people, including the registered DAS Guest, only four out of your family of five will be able to experience a particular attraction using DAS. If there are
Lightning Lane Multi Pass attractions that you'd like to ensure your family experiences together, I recommend purchasing a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for at least one member of your family.
DAS and Lightning Lane Multi Pass can work together smoothly if you're able to coordinate the DAS return time with the Lightning Lane return time - which shouldn't be too difficult, as long as you're aware. Then all five of you will be able to access the Lightning Lane queue together at the scheduled time!
Remember, you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass on the day of your visit (subject to availability), so if you are visiting the theme parks for multiple days you could try out DAS without Lightning Lane Multi Pass and see how it goes, particularly if you want to experience some attractions on that first day that do not have Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Then, Lightning Lane Multi Pass could be an option later if you're wanting to move through attractions a bit quicker.
Whatever you decide, Kaitlin, make sure to talk with your family about what they are most excited about. The two parks within Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park (often referred to as DCA), each have their own unique vibe with a plethora of magical options. Every family is going to be vastly different with what interests them. I recommend you and your family spend some time looking over the
park maps and the
Daily Events Schedule together and identify your top priorities, including attractions and entertainment. Each family member should have maybe 3-4 priorities each! (At the top of my 11-year-old's priority list is always
Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy's Edge! We also adore the magic of
Cars Land!) This exercise will not only help you come up with a loose game plan but will also get everyone excited about the trip!
I hope this information has been helpful, Kaitlin, and that you have the most magical visit! January is one of my favorite times of year to go to Disneyland and was actually when my boys went for the first time! I'm so thrilled for you.
Magic awaits,
McCayla
