Dear Deborah,
Thanks for contacting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your terrific question about wheelchair usage at the Walt Disney World Resort.
We all cover a lot of ground on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and Disney recognizes that too.
Wheelchair and Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) rentals are available at all of the theme parks and water parks that you might be visiting on your trip! Additionally, if the options that Disney has don't work for you, there are preferred providers that will have suggestions for your particular needs as well.
Walt Disney World truly believes in making your vacation accessible for all Guests, and
there are a host of Accessibility Services available to you to make your grandparents' experience smooth! Something that might be helpful to you is the "virtual line," in which you speak to a Cast Member who will give you a return time for the particular attraction, so that your grandparents do not have to wait in the line. Then, you will go at the designated time to the applicable entrance and a Cast Member will assist you to board the attraction.
Moms Panel tip - There are
printable guides for each park to describe in detail the services that are available to you to assist your grandparents.
Have a magical vacation!
- Jan K.
