My family and I are visiting Disney for the first time July 18-26. It's so overwhelming as to what to do. Can you give me some ideas of how long we need at each park including water parks and where to dine? We have two children, 8 and 11.

Hi, James! What a great vacation you have planned for your family! You are going to be at WDW for a nice, long stay...so, if I were you, I would just relax, make some plans and take everything at a leisurely pace.  For starters, I usually tell guests that it takes about two days to fully experience the Magic Kingdom. Our family likes to begin and end our vacations there. Then, we take about a day at each of the other parks...and a 1/2 day to a full day at each of the water parks, too. Take a look at the calendars for each of the parks to determine park hours, entertainment and event schedules and Extra Magic Hours, and make sure you also make plans for great dining before you arrive. Once you have an idea of those options and plans, your daily schedule starts to take shape and then, you can explore opportunities such as sports & recreation, tours & special experiences and shopping & entertainment.  It's a "Whole New World," that's for sure...enjoy your time exploring it both before you arrive and while you're there! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
