My family will be visiting Disney in April 2015. We are staying in the park so I know we can book our dinners 180 days prior. I am so nervous that the morning I can book the character dinners they are going to fill up extremely fast - any tips to share?

    Kristine:

Believe me, you're not alone in getting nervous about booking your favorite venues. Every Disney trip I plan, I get worried that I won't snag a family favorite. But honestly, if your family is like mine, they will be happy with whatever is planned. There are so many delicious and fun restaurants from which to choose.

My #1 tip on getting the dining location of your choice is to make sure that your resort reservation is linked to your My Disney Experience at www.disneyworld.com in advance of the 180 days out from your check-in date. This will enable you to actually book 180 + 10 additional days INTO your vacation vs. those guests who don't have a vacation reservation in their account to allow them access to these additional days. If you are unable to book your favorite restaurant on say, your arrival day, you should have better luck toward the end of your vacation stay window because it is actually more than 180 days out from check-in and will put you closer to the front of the line for choices.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
