Welcome to planDisney, Rich!
How exciting that your family would like to charter a starcruiser to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This is actually a land located within
Disneyland Park. Therefore, each member of your family would need a valid
theme park ticket and a
theme park reservation for Disneyland Park. Before you purchase those tickets, check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to make sure that Disneyland Park has availability that day. Since there are capacity limits, the sooner you book, the better.
Let's talk about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This wonderfully immersive land has two amazing attractions,
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and
Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. Both of these attractions are very popular and have long lines throughout the day. Here is the best way to experience both without having to wait too long. Get to Disneyland Park 45 minutes before it opens (you heard me). That'll give you enough time to get through security, get in line, scan your tickets, and then make your way up Main Street U.S.A. Once Disneyland Park opens, make your way straight for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (you can pick up a map at the park entrance, or become familiar with the map on the Disneyland Mobile App). Once you arrive, you'll be tempted to stop and admire how amazing everything looks. Fight that temptation! Keep going and make your way to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This is seriously one of the best attractions you'll ever go on!
By the time you've experienced this attraction, the line will be very long for the rest of the day. If you'd like to experience it again without waiting in the standby line, each member of your family can purchase an
Individual Lightning Lane entrance.
Once you've experienced Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you can check the wait times for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. If I were you, I would purchase
Disney Genie+ for each member of your family. This will enable you to make Lightning Lane selections at many of the attractions throughout Disneyland Park, including Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. There are some helpful tutorials available on the Disneyland Mobile App that explain to you how Disney Genie+ works.
You should be able to experience both attractions at the beginning of your day. This leaves the rest of the day open for adventure. Enjoy some blue milk from the
Milk Stand. Grab some galactic grub from
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo. Choose a memorable souvenir from
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities. Or get some selfies with some of your favorite Star Wars characters. From Stormtroopers to the Mandalorian and Grogu, who knows who you might run into?
And don't forget to explore the rest of Disneyland Park! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time, Rich. May the Force be with you.
