My family is going to visit May 19th (there are 12 of us) we are staying a the beach club, Thiswould be mine and my husbands first time, have any advice?

    Lynn:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel for our thoughts!

I've planned two Grand Gatherings: one for 19 and one for 23....and my first piece of advice (besides planning ahead) is to plan NOT to do everything together!  My husband likes to call it herding cats...

Our gameplan was to go to the same park each day and eat one meal together each day, but other than that, we broke down into smaller units, either by family or ages, to enjoy the park's attractions.  (You'd be surprised how much territory you can actually cover if you put all of the toddlers in one group and the teenagers in another!) You didn't meantion if you were staying in a villa or not, but if you're looking for some restaurants that easily accommodate your group, consider Biergarten, Teppan Edo, or one of the dinner shows.

Lastly, don't miss out on the fabulous water park activities of the Beach Club with its lazy river and water slides.  Plan some time to enjoy the resort and the Boardwalk that's close by, possibly on your arrival day.  If your group is mostly older, take a stroll over to the Boardwalk and enjoy Jellyrolls piano bar, the Dance Hall, or for karaoke lovers, Kimonos sushi bar at the Swan for a fun time for the group!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
