Hi! My family and I want to visit DL during the holidays. Is it better to go in November or December for less crowding? Plus my daughter wants to meet Periwinkle! Do you know if she makes an appearance during November and/or December? Thank you!

    Hi, Renata!

November can be a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort because holiday decorations and other seasonal extras, like special treats and entertainment, begin appearing. The holiday decor is gradually added when the parks are closed and is complete by mid-November (holiday season offerings at the resort officially begin on Nov. 13).

Peak winter crowds occur around Thanksgiving week and in December as Christmas approaches. To avoid the heaviest crowds, visit during the week rather than on a weekend if you can. Be sure to utilize Disney’s FASTPASS service when available to optimize your time in the parks!

Your family won’t want to miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday attractions, and the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" fireworks show’s finale of snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. is a must-see. On the “Holiday Time at Disneyland” Tour, Guests can hear holiday tales from Disneyland Park history, experience seasonal attractions and watch “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” from a reserved viewing area while enjoying a delicious treat and warm beverage.

A visit to Pixie Hollow to meet Tinker Bell and her fairy friends sounds like a great idea. Once you arrive in this enchanted forest in Fantasyland, you'll be magically transformed down to fairy size to meet friends such as Tinker Bell, Vidia, Terence, Fawn, Rosetta, Silvermist, Iridessa and, your daughter’s favorite, Periwinkle! Pixie Hollow can have substantial wait times, and the queue usually lasts throughout the day until the attraction closes in the mid-afternoon. Be sure to check the Times Guide when you visit for the current schedule.

I hope this helps, Renata, and that you enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to the Disneyland Resort! Please write back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
