We have a family vacation coming up in September, I am trying to figure out the cost of adding an additional night before our check in day. Trying to figure out if we want to add a night, or just stay at a hotel close by the night before.

    Hi ya, Skylar!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by. You’ve come to the right spot, and the right person! I am always willing to add an extra day to my visit. I’m also known to push back my flight to soak in as much magic as I can before I head back home. My husband jokes that if I could, I would stay forever.

To add that extra day, I recommend giving the Walt Disney World Reservations line a call. A Cast Member, on the line, will be more than happy to see if there’s availability to add a night to your existing reservation and share the cost of doing that with you. I also recommend asking them to check for availability at other Disney Resort Hotels. That way, you can take advantage of the complimentary luggage transfer between Disney Resorts. All you’ll need to do is take your bags over to Bell Services and let them know that you will be transferring to another Disney Resort hotel. The Cast Members there will tag your luggage and send it off to your next resort. You’ll then be able to pick up your luggage at your new resort’s Bell Services sometime after 3:00 PM.

Of course, you won’t need to do this if you do add the extra night to your existing resort, but it is nice to know this is an option if you do stay at a different Disney Resort. It’s just another benefit of staying with Disney Resorts Collection. Plus, you will be in the middle of the magic from start to finish, which is something my family truly enjoys. We love the feeling of escaping the real world and being surrounded by Disney with our resort stay and theme park visits. That feeling of waking up in Disney is so special to me; it's one of the main reasons why I always extend my visits.

Skylar, I hope this helps answer your question. Good luck on adding that extra night. It’s going to be magical! And if there’s anything else we can help with, or if you need resort recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask! We are always here to help.

    See ya real soon,
