Hi! My family usually visits in Sept when crowds are low & free dining offered. Now we're thinking of going the week before Thanksgiving. Can you tell me if the crowds are significantly worse, free dining offered?, weather? Etc.. Thank you!

    Hi Stacey!

In the past few years, my family has been there at both of those times!

September is one of the lowest crowd-level months of the year at Walt Disney World.  We were there this past September and the crowds were amazingly low, but it was also very, very hot!  The crowds the week before Thanksgiving will be very similar to a typical week in September.  The actual week of Thanksgiving gets very crowded, but not the week before.

Weather, in my opinion, is much better in November.  It may get a little bit chilly at night, but the days are generally perfect.  Another bonus for November is getting to see all of the beautiful holiday decorations. They are truly spectacular!

As for free dining, I really don't know.  You can copy and paste the address below to see a chart of past discount information. It looks like there was a free dining offer for the week before Thanksgiving last year, but that doesn't guarantee that it will happen again this year.  Last year's discount became available in May.  (Keep in mind that this isn't an official Disney website, but I find it to be a great resource):

I hope this helps you make your decision.  Please let me know if you have any other questions!
