Hi, my family and I usually travel second week of Sept. Would like to enjoy Christmas decor next visit. What Is the best time to-travel to avoid special event such as Pop Warner? Would like to enjoy cooler weather and lower crowds during holiday visit.

    Hi Felicia,
I'm so glad to hear that you are planning on visiting Walt Disney World resort during the holiday season. There is so much magic already everywhere you look it's hard to think that they fit much more, but they absolutely do!  Cinderella Castle dripping in lights, the smell of gingerbread wafting through the air, and all the spectacular decorations give into this festive time of year.
Decorating usually starts the first of November and is completed before the very first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which was held on Nov. 9th this past year.
Anytime from the middle of November through the middle of December is a great time to go, crowds are typically light and the weather is much cooler this time of year. The only times you might want to avoid is, as you mentioned, Pop Warner week because most of the Value Resorts and some moderates will be filled to the brim with some very high energy little girls and boys. This is typically held the first week of December and in 2013 will be December 7th-13th. Also, Jersey Week is another time you will see a slight elevation in crowds, this year being November 7 and 8th.  This is when New Jersey holds its teachers convention so parents take advantage of the time off to take a vacation.  Another date to keep in mind is typically the first Saturday in December, this is when Disney tapes its annual Christmas Day parade.  Typically it has no effect on the entire resort, Magic Kingdom will be cumbersome to maneuver while the taping is under way.
In my opinion the best week to avoid these dates, would be the week before Thanksgiving or the week before Christmas break, which most schools will typically start their breaks the Friday before Christmas. Please remember we are always here to answer any of your questions!
    Best Wishes!
