My family and I will be using the "quick service dining plan." Is there something like a grocery store to buy small items for our room? Another question...Can we take the "refillable mug" into the park and what kind of drinks can be r

    Hi, Joe!

You're going to love the value you get for the Quick-Service Dining Plan!

Your Walt Disney World resort will have a small grocery section in the gift shop which will include basics such as donuts and breakfast items, snacks, refrigerated items and some other basic staples.  You can, however, ship a box of groceries to yourself at the resort address.  This is especially helpful if you know that your kids like a particular brand of peanut butter, or if you'd like to ship their favorite snacks, etc.  We ship down fruit snacks, Pop-Tarts, granola bars, microwavable popcorn (if we're in a room with a microwave), crackers and pepperoni, etc., so we have what we need for most breakfasts and some snacks, too.

Regarding your resort-refillable mug, you can fill this at any fountain service location at your resort.  This includes the usual hot beverages, such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, as well as cold fountain items such as soft drinks, lemonade and even Powerade at some locations. And yes, you absolutely can take these mugs into the parks; many people do.  However, you won't get free refills there.  On the other hand, if you don't finish the drink which comes with your Quick-Service meal (and we never do, they are huge!) you can pour what's left into your refillable mug so you've got something to sip on as you wander through the park.  Like most travel mugs, they aren't spill-proof, so just be aware of this if you decide to bring them with you into the parks. (We actually buy inexpensive resealable, wide-mouthed bottles for the parks, specifically so that we can bring an icy drink in and refill with what we can't finish at our Quick-Service meal.  The wide mouth allows the ice in, and there is no spilling while on rides.)

Please send any additional questions you may have as you plan your trip to Walt Disney World!  I'd love to help!
