Hello! My family and I (13 of us) will be sailing in October 2012 on the Dream to the Bahamas! We are so excited. Wanting to know if we would have Travelers checks, cash, or credit cards for our port adventures? Thank you for your help!

    Hi Sheron!

I'm excited for you!  The Disney Dream is gorgeous, and you'll never want to leave...I fact, every time I sail on a Disney cruise ship I'm always planning the next one before I even get home!

Any of the payments you listed in your question is acceptable for your port adventures in the Bahamas.  Of course, on Castaway Cay everything you purchase on the island is charged back to your stateroom account.  The only thing that I would advise is to use cash when shopping from the vendors at the straw market (street vendors).  Shop around because many times they have the same items, and negotiate the costs...they start high.  They are super nice people and I have a great time just talking with them.

Enjoy your trip Sheron....have a magical time!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
