1st family trip to WL in December with kids 2,6. Staying in Bunk Bed Wood View room. Any tips on room request? Would like to possible see MK fireworks/otter lake/quiet room but not too far of a walk for the kids! Please help! Layout map is confusing! Thx!!

    Hi, Kerri!

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is such a gorgeous property!

You have two bunk bed room options: Woods View or Courtyard View.

These rooms are all located in the main lodge building.

Depending upon your tolerance for possible outside "ambiance," you might want to tip your scales in favor of a Woods View. Courtyard View rooms can overlook the pool.

As for an easy walk ... you are looking at a five minute walk (minimally) to the launches from the lobby of Wilderness Lodge. These launches can get you to Magic Kingdom or Disney's Fort Wilderness. However, you'll be much closer to the front of the building, where you'll pick up complimentary shuttles, hit the food court, and more.

Rooms in the low 5000s, for example, can offer woods views, but are just off the lobby.

If you want to catch a view of the fireworks at night, you will want to request North Wing, Upper Floors, but this will mean sacrificing your bunks.

    Happy planning!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
