My family has a trip planned for later this month, and we're staying in a Disney Resort. We received luggage tags, which we weren't expecting, as we thought that was canceled. If we use these will luggage be brought to our room?

    Hello Rebecca,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Wow, your vacation is just around the corner! You must be so excited to join in The World's Most Magical Celebration!

Receiving the luggage tags must have been a fun surprise! These are actually sent to guests who book vacation packages. As cute as they are, they will not be any help when it comes to getting your luggage from the airplane to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. (Didn't you love when it would just magically appear in your hotel room?) These days, you'll have to stop at baggage claim and transport your luggage to your resort yourself.

I'm sure you already know this, but now that Magical Express has been retired, you'll need to book your own transportation from the airport to Walt Disney World. There are tons of options, ranging from Mears Connect (a shuttle service run by the company who previously operated Magical Express), to ride share options, taxis, private car services, and even car rentals.

Once you arrive at your resort, if it's not quite check in time, you can still run off to the parks or Disney Springs for some fun. Just drop your luggage off at Bell Services. They'll happily hold it for you until you're ready to pick it up, or you can call them from your Resort Hotel Room once it's ready, and they'll bring it to you.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
