Our family has a trip planned that includes staying on site over New Year’s Eve. We will be traveling with 2 teens who are a bit anxious around crowds. Are there suggestions for a place to view fireworks in the parks for autistic teens?

    Hey there Jeffrey,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this question. New Year’s Eve is one of the most popular days of the year to spend at the two parks. EPCOT and Magic Kingdom put on some awesome parties to ring in 2026. But with two teens who get a little anxious around crowds, there will be some places that I can recommend to provide some peace as well as view the fireworks. One of my favorite places to watch the fireworks where there aren’t any people at all doesn’t give you a view of the fireworks for the entire time. But it does give you a very unique view. The PeopleMover in Tomorrowland shuttles you around the Tomorrowland skies. You will have a view of Cinderella Castle from that perch for a couple of minutes. Another attraction that I have watched the show in the sky on is Dumbo the Flying Elephant. The line usually isn’t a long wait while the show is happening, and we have watched from Dumbo a couple of times. If you’d like to see the entire show another fantastic spot where there won’t be a lot of folks is in Fantasyland near Gaston’s Tavern. Lots of open space and a very underrated view that a lot of park goers miss out on. Most line the curbs of Main Street USA which is the best view, but the tranquility may be worth missing the projections on the castle.

When it comes to EPCOT‘s fireworks show Luminous, there isn’t a bad location in World Showcase to watch from. One of the more spacious pavilions are the Italy and Japan pavilions. There are also options at both parks for fireworks seating, at EPCOT you can choose to do Fireworks Dining Package at select restaurants. This gives you a preferred viewing area for fireworks that is not as crowded as other areas. Magic Kingdom has the Fireworks Desserts Party: Seats and Sweets. This also gives you a preferred viewing area for Happily Ever After. Both of these are very comfortable and your two teens will appreciate the additional space.

I hope this information is helpful for your visit during the holiday season. Come back anytime if you ever have any other planning questions.

    Have a magical day,
