My family will be travelling the WDW and staying on site at the Animal Kingdom Lodge from 03/04-03/07. Can we drive to The Contemporary Resort and park there and get to Chef Mickey's without a reservation for the restaurant?

Hello John, and welcome to planDisney!

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! You will adore this resort and all of its amenities, from the theming to the food options.

You will need a confirmed dining reservation at Chef Mickey's to park at Disney's Contemporary Resort for your meal. If you can not get a dining reservation and you want to take a chance to see if you can get a reservation when you arrive, I recommend utilizing the Walt Disney World Bus Service to take you to Magic Kingdom Park. Once you arrive, just walk over to the Contemporary. Or, if you would like to drive, just park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and hop on the Monorail Transportation to the Contemporary. The good thing is if you are able to enjoy a meal at Chef Mickey's after you are done, you can hop back onto the monorail and enjoy the ride back to the Ticket and Transportation Center. The monorail is fun for my family because we see it as an attraction within itself.
