    HI, My family is traveling with an 11, 9 and 8 year old to all of the parks. What suggestions do you have in case anyone gets lost? Thanks

    Hi Jill,

    I, like you (and most parents), am paranoid about keeping my kids safe and in my line of sight at all times.  This can be tricky when your kids spot their favorite characters and make a mad dash towards them in the middle of a crowded park!  I've always "identified" my kids using a variety of "concoctions".  I started out by sticking our cell phone numbers on mailing address labels on their backs.  (I simply wrote, "If I'm lost, please call....")  Through the years, I got a bit more sophisticated, and had custom "dog tags" printed with the same information.  I clip the tags to their clothing, and ensure that my kids know where they are and what to do if they get separated (i.e., find a Cast Member and tell them to call mom or dad).  Last year, I even had t-shirts printed with Mickey on the front and the same "If I'm lost, please call...." on the back.  I can't tell you how many moms stopped me and told me what a great idea the shirts were!  At the water parks, I use soft "event bracelets" (the kind you get at a local carnival) with permanent ink on them.  You can pick these up at a party supply store. 

    Your children are a bit older than mine, so if the ideas I listed above aren't appropriate, you can help your kids identify Cast Members (they all have distinctive pins with their names and home state, country, etc. printed on them), agree upon a meeting place if they get separated, and ensure that they know (or carry) your cell phone number.
