Family traveling with a 3 year old and 10 month old in August 2011. Going to TL should I rent cabana or the getway glen umbrellas. Looking for a place for the baby to be able to rest and nap in the shade. Which is the best option.

    Hi Chacora!

There are several locations throughout Typhoon Lagoon that provide shaded areas on a first come first serve basis for free.  If you don’t want to bother hunting down one of these spots, renting a Beachcomber Shack or umbrella at Getaway Glen is an excellent option.  The main difference is price and how private they are.

The Beachcomber Shack is private and semi-spacious with a wooden roof, includes a stocked cooler with bottled water, you get all-day drink mugs, towel service, a locker, a personal attendant and waiter.  These are significantly more expensive than the umbrellas.

The Getaway Glen umbrellas are basically just the umbrella and 2 lounge chairs.  They are set up in a giant circle and are right next to each other, so they aren’t very private.  They also come with a table and 4 towels.

You can call (407) WDW-PLAY to reserve either option.

    Have a magical day!
