My family is traveling to wdw 1/29/11-2/3/11 and I was wondering about weather. What types of clothes should we pack and can we wear shorts during the day? Will we be able to swim at one of the water parks also?

    Hi Cristin!
My family is vacationing at WDW right now. We've had all kinds of temperatures this week! We've been vacationing in January for over 20 years. We've had park days that were hot and humid and others that were absolutely freezing. Sometimes within the same trip!

We wore shorts one day this week. Otherwise we've been in jeans. We watched the forecast closely and planned our water park touring for the day with the warmest temperature predictions. We actually had a fabulous day at Blizzard Beach. There were no crowds and the water was warmer than the resort's pool.

However, the last two days, the water park has been closed due to very cold weather. Today, we toured the Animal Kingdom wearing many layers. I had on a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt and medium weight jacket. Oh, and gloves. Yes, I wore gloves too. I needed my sweatshirt hood up over my ears as well.

Temperatures are suppose to get increasingly better the next few days. I hope we'll be shedding the jackets and gloves!

Watch www.accuweather.com for the 15 day forecast. I usually pack more shorts if the temperatures look pleasant. Bring layers!

I can tell you that we've had more pleasant days than freezing cold days during our late January vacations!
