My family is traveling to WDW for the 1st time this June (2 adults & 2 kids 5,6). I am wanting info about the Fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood & Vine. How does it work and would it be beneficial for my family to use this service?

The Fantasmic! dinner package includes dinner at one of three Disney's Hollywood Studios restaurants (Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine, & Mama Melrose all participate) and reserved seating for the show.  To participate, you must reserve the package by calling 407-WDW-DINE.  Since your vacation is quickly approaching, you should call for reservations as soon as possible as this is a very popular package and availability is limited.

On the night of your reservation, you'll check in at the podium of the restaurant as you would any other dining reservation.  After your meal, your server will give you "tickets" that will grant you access to the special reserved seating area of the ampitheater.  You will need to arrive at the appointed place (your server will tell you where) no less than 30 minutes before the show, though it is advisable to arrive even a bit earlier.

Whether or not this package would be beneficial to your family depends on whether or not you mind a long wait in line.  The popularity of Fantasmic! translates to long waits (often times over an hour) for those wanting to see it.  The benefit of the dinner package is that you have a reserved seating area that you don't have to wait in line for.  My family participated in September and found it to be very convenient.  I plan to reserve the package again for our next trip!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
