Hi Melanie! Congratulations, you're just days away from the start of your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm so excited for you!
The closest theme parts are Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Be sure to have at least 2 pairs of very comfortable shoes for everyone...you'll do more walking than you ever imagined. Temperatures still soar in the high 80s - low 90s so bring sunscreen and a hat or sun visor to keep the heat off your face. Pack rain gear - umbrellas and ponchos. Showers happen almost without warning so you always need to be prepared.
Take advantage of extra Magic Hours! When you stay on property you can visit parks before they open or stay after they close with extra Magic Hours. Here are some of the extra Magic Hours to note for your upcoming trip: September 13, 2014 Magic Kingdom Park 11 p.m. - 1 a.m.
September 14, 2014 Disney's Hollywood Studios 9 - 11 p.m.
September 15, 2014 Disney's Animal Kingdom 8 - 9 a.m.
September 16, 2014 Epcot 8 - 9 a.m.
With school officially back in session you'll have less crowds to deal with so September is a wonderful time to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort...there are a few very exciting things happening at this time of year. Your entire family will LOVE
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party held on select nights starting from September 1 to October 31, 2014.
With grandparents along, enjoy a date night at
Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival which begins September 19 - November 10, 2014...described as the most delicious annual event at Walt Disney World Resort.
Wishing you a magical and memorable Disney Vacation!
~Juliette
