My family will be traveling to WDW for the first time this summer. Are the Magic Kingdom Area restaurants such as Chef Mickeys and Ohana close to the Magic Kingdom Park?

    Hi Debbie!

I am so excited to be able to help you prepare for your family's first trip to Walt Disney world Resort! Be sure to stop at Guest Relations to pick up a First Visit Celebration button so Guests and Cast Members can join in your celebration! One of my family's favorite things about visiting Magic Kingdom is a ride on the Resort Monorail, which connects the theme park with the Ticket & Transportation Center and three of the fantastic resort hotels in the Magic Kingdom area: Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. So if your family would like to enjoy a meal with Mickey and the gang at Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort or have breakfast with Stitch and friends at 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, transportation is a simple Monorail ride away! When catching the monorail from Magic Kingdom, be sure to take the Resort Monorail which makes stops at all three resorts.

Even though the distance is relatively short, I would still recommend allowing 60-90 minutes total transportation time from Magic Kingdom to your meal. I have found that getting through Main Street, U.S.A. can sometimes take our family some time due to crowd levels and the all of the magical sights and sounds to experience. If you arrive at your reservation early, you can always use that time to explore the resort. You will find some amazing and unique souvenEARs in the resort gift shops that are exclusive to that resort. I am a huge fan of the tiki mugs that can be found at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort!

Let us know if you have any other questions! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
