Hiya, Reanna!
Thank you for sending this
Disneyland Resort planning question to us hEAR at planDisney. It's my pleasure to assist a fellow Texan!
Mickey balloons are one of my favorite Disney Parks things. I love seeing the bountiful bundles of these beautiful bubbles floating and bouncing in the breeze, and I love how such a simple souvenEAR can bring joy to so many. Pro Tip: These also make a great
stroller marker when parking your push buggy, especially the light-up balloons at night.
The good news is that these Up worthy mementos are all secured with a zip tie and are not knotted. I've packed scissors with us before to get these iconic (
ear-conic?) beauties home, but the better recommendation is to bring a pair of nail clippers. Once both pieces are deflated, roll them up like a very tight tortilla to decrease your chance for creases; bonus points if you lie the balloons flat first on an empty shopping bag to use as a buffer layer. When you get home you can reinflate both pieces, just make sure to stretch out the latex layer first, and to also insert it into the "glass" layer before filling. Or, should you sadly accidentally nick part of the balloon to where it's still intact but unable to be filled (ie: made a small hole but didn't pop), it can still be used in a scrapbook or even possibly as a homemade *paperweight. (*Try filling it with a craft plaster kit!)
Bonus Tip: If you're driving to
The Happiest Place on Earth, you'll probably still want to deflate your balloon as all of the ups and downs (see what I did there, wink!) through the different elevations might not be kind to your floating Mickey, and I'd hate for you to be startled while driving.
I hope that this helped to clEAR your question
