Hi we are a family of 4 traveling with one 8 yr old and one 10 yr old. At a regular table service restaurant(Not character or buffet) could they share an adult entree credit for one meal and then at another restaurant both order using child credit? Thanks

    Hi Cassandra,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

Although your 10 year old can absolutely choose to order from the kids’ menu should she prefer one of those selections, sharing meals in order to use only one Disney Dining Plan table service entitlement between two people is generally not allowed. This is the case even if both of the people sharing are using a child entitlement or, in your family’s case, if a child and an older child who is an “adult” for the purposes of the Disney Dining Plan split an adult entitlement.

I understand that Disney food portions can be pretty substantial, so sharing a meal would make sense to me, even if your children aren’t big eaters. If you’d like to use your family’s Disney Dining Plan entitlements to pay for their food, you’ll need to redeem one child and one adult table service entitlement, even if they both share an adult plate. My advice would be to pay “out of pocket” for the shared meal.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
